Building-level Teacher and Support Staff of the Year honorees announced

Congratulations to the 2020-2021 building-level Teacher of the Year (TOY) and Support Staff of the Year (SSOY) honorees. These staff members were nominated by students, parents and co-workers and chosen as the honoree from their building by their fellow staff members. They are: 

  • Early Childhood – Marjorie Justice (TOY) and Laura Wick (SSOY)

  • Bridgeway – Keri Gleason (TOY) and Kara Crismon (SSOY)

  • Drummond – Brenda Kelch (TOY) and Lynn Becker (SSOY)

  • Parkwood – Chip Ianiri (TOY) and Brandy Fowler (SSOY)

  • Rose Acres – Amy Frost (TOY) and Tina Sandheinrich (SSOY)

  • Willow Brook – Kristen Gartland (TOY) and Jesica Misuraca (SSOY)

  • Remington – Danica Johnson (TOY) and Abby Reckamp (SSOY)

  • Holman – Scott Wagner (TOY) and Lisa Roth (SSOY)

  • Pattonville Heights – Kelly Strobel (TOY) and Joe Groceman (SSOY)

  • Pattonville High School – Eleanor Taylor (TOY) and Lisa Foust (SSOY)

These staff members will have the chance to advance in the district-level process and will be recognized in May.

Spring Parent Teacher Conferences are Coming Up

PARENTS:  Check your email for a message about signing up for Virtual Parent/Teacher Conferences.  Signups go live on Monday, March 1st at 9am. Conferences will be 100% virtual and will follow the same format we used in the Fall. 

 

Six Pattonville graduates earned Missouri's Seal of Biliteracy

Six 2020 graduates of Pattonville High School earned the Missouri's Seal of Biliteracy. 

Erik Bustillo Sierra earned the Distinguished Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish and Abdulmohaimen Al Yuwaili and Harith Al Yuwaili earned the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Arabic, Madina Nigmonjonova earned the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Russian, Eric Estrada Lopez earned the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in Spanish, and Kate Teku earned the Missouri Seal of Biliteracy in French. All six graduated from Pattonville last May.

Harris awarded a four-year all-expense paid scholarship

Pattonville High School senior Mya Harris was awarded a four year all-expense paid scholarship to the college or university of her choice. After delivering a national qualifying speech for debate about the politics of Black hair, Harris was offered a summer internship with the Simmons Hanly Conroy law firm. She was not only the first high schooler to earn an internship with the law firm, but she has been chosen as the first SHC Scholar. In a public statement: “As an SHC Scholar, hard work and a commitment to speech and debate has afforded Mya a life changing opportunity.” Harris plans to pursue her dream of becoming a biomedical engineer or a bioethical attorney with hopes of paving a new path for girls of color.

Thames scores 1,000th career point

Kellen Thames scored his 1,000th career point after the Pirates won the tip-off in Wednesday’s game against Lafayette. The junior now has put up 1,024 career points while wearing the green and white jersey.
