Brian Heyman, multimedia communications specialist for the Pattonville School District, has been named the Missouri School Public Relations Association’s 2021 New Professional of the Year.
The primary criteria for the New Professional of the Year Award are that the recipient is in their first 18 months in the field of public relations and has exhibited a creative, dedicated and professional approach to school communications.
MOSPRA president Kelly Wachel, APR, stated, “MOSPRA is proud to recognize Brian for his incredible work as a new communications professional. It is clear from the multiple letters of support we received that Brian is doing exceptional work for his district.”
Pattonville director of school-community relations Mickey Schoonover, APR, wrote, “Brian has been a great addition to our team. He excels at everything his role demands: writing, editing, photography, videography, storytelling, curiosity, planning and creativity. He is a journalist at heart, and his instinct for stories and news has been a great benefit to our district in the short time he has been with our department. His expertise has helped us navigate complicated waters in this brave new world we are all experiencing.”
MOSPRA is pleased to recognize Brian Heyman for his excellence as a new professional in the field of school communications.
The Missouri School Public Relations Association (MOSPRA) is the Missouri state chapter of the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). While the membership in MOSPRA is primarily composed of school communication practitioners from public school districts, members also include superintendents, principals, secretaries, education association staff, board of education members and others who work to gain public confidence in education. Like its parent organization, MOSPRA is dedicated to providing citizens with a better understanding of the objectives, accomplishments and needs of the schools within our communities.
