During the Scholastic Book Fair at Rose Acres, library technology specialist Nicole Mikel grew a storybook pumpkin patch. Jasper Rabbit from “Creepy Carrots!” was joined by 79 additional book characters.
“The kids picked book characters that they love and created pumpkins at home,” Mikel said. “Some were really creative, and it was fun to see and hear how our families came together and worked with their kids on them."
All storybook pumpkins entered into the patch were entered into a contest.
“Everyone voted for their favorite pumpkin and the first, second and third place winners got a gift certificate to the fair.”
